The past year or so, since the horrible October 2023 attacks in Israel/Palestine, have been so difficult to watch. For those of you, like me, who have traveled to this land and have many friends there, it has been even more so. Of course, none here can imagine the tension there nor the anxiety. As many of you know I did make it there in January 2024 for a few days and I had no idea then that this would still be going on. We now have a ceasefire, as tentative as it is. I join with the many who are praying that it holds and that the hostilities cease. Throughout this time, those of us who wish to travel there have watched this carefully. I believe it is now time to go. Marti and I hope to offer a solidarity visit in late October and early November of this year. More details should be coming soon. I hope you will begin now considering if you would like to go. This will, most likely, not be the usual Holy Land pilgrimage, but it may contain some such visits depending on what is going on. The real reason for such visits is to be in solidarity with our Christians siblings in the country, the Living Stones. As I said, more details to follow.
Until then, pray for the peace of Gaza, Jerusalem, and the region. +Greg
